MELAKA, Oct 25— Pakatan Harapan (PH) is combining experienced representatives with party figures from different backgrounds in its 21-candidate line-up for the upcoming Melaka state election, as the coalition prepares to contest all 21 seats.

The list, announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, allocates five seats to Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), seven to the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and nine to PKR.

Melaka PH chairman Datuk Seri Adly Zahari will defend Bukit Katil, while DAP’s Kerk Chee Yee will contest Ayer Keroh and Seah Shoo Chin will stand in Kesidang.

PKR’s line-up includes several prominent party figures, among them Prime Minister’s political secretary Datuk Azman Abidin, who will contest Paya Rumput, and party central Women’s Information chief Datuk Ginie Lim, who will stand in Machap Jaya.

The coalition is also fielding Tangga Batu PKR Youth chief Farzana Hayani Mohd Nasir in Klebang, reflecting the inclusion of party representatives from different levels of its organisation.

Other candidates include Mohd Yunazri Mustamiri in Tanjung Bidara, Muhammad Mukhlisul Mubin Julasapiyah in Kuala Linggi, Datuk Ashraf Mukhlis Minghat in Durian Tunggal and Captain (Rtd) Mohamad Jaafar in Telok Mas.

The remaining candidates are Jegasilan K. in Gadek, P. Denesh in Asahan, Jason Tze-Xi Nathan in Pengkalan Batu, Muhammad Hakimin Mokhtar in Ayer Molek, Low Chee Leong in Kota Laksamana, Poo Long Suan in Duyong, Leng Chau Yen in Bandar Hilir, Esma Eazreen Husin in Rim, Muhammad Faiq Azman in Serkam and Rahayu Hamzah in Merlimau.

The announcement establishes PH’s candidate line-up ahead of polling, with the coalition now facing the task of translating its party representation into electoral support across the state.

The contest will test the coalition’s ability to defend its existing support base while persuading voters in constituencies where it faces competition from rival parties.
