JOHOR BAHRU, June 1 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) Johor has taken note of the announcement by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi regarding the dissolution of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (DUN), effective today.

In a joint statement, PH Johor leaders said the coalition had anticipated that Barisan Nasional (BN) would dissolve the state assembly in the near future. They argued that the previously announced state assembly sitting scheduled for June 22 had appeared “completely illogical” in light of the political developments.

The coalition said it would continue its existing preparations to face the upcoming state election in the spirit of democracy.

PH Johor also announced that discussions would be elevated to the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council at the national level to determine the coalition’s next course of action.

Emphasising that no election should be taken lightly, the coalition said it was fully prepared to mobilise all available resources and efforts to secure victory in the coming Johor state election.

The statement was jointly issued by PH Johor chairman and Johor Amanah chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, Johor PKR chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and Johor DAP chairman Teo Nie Ching.
