SEREMBAN, May 15 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed all entrepreneur development agencies to intensify grassroots engagement efforts to better identify the needs of the people, particularly young entrepreneurs and small traders as reported by Bernama.

Anwar said government agencies and financial institutions should adopt a proactive approach by going directly to communities instead of waiting for the public to seek assistance at government offices.

He stressed that direct engagement was crucial to ensure government aid, financing schemes and development programmes effectively reached targeted groups and addressed problems at the grassroots level.

“My message is clear to all agencies and government financial institutions — find ways to go down to the people. Do not wait for them to come to the office to apply for assistance,” he said during his speech at the 2026 National Youth Day celebration here today.

Also present were Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.

The Prime Minister said ministries and relevant agencies must become more active in engaging with small-scale entrepreneurs and young traders on the ground.

“If there are small stalls in Kuala Lumpur, Seremban or anywhere else, go and meet them. Ask what problems they face, whether they have sufficient capital and adequate facilities. The government must be present to assist the people,” he said.
