KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — Citrine One Malaysia, a strategic communication and crisis communication consultancy firm, has officially launched its social enterprise initiative dedicated to empowering children, families and communities through education, financial literacy and lifelong learning.
The launch took place at the Perdana Leadership Foundation (PLF), marking the start of a long-term commitment to nurture financially confident and socially responsible future generations.
The inaugural programme introduces Nimbus Presents: Money Wise Tales, an engaging financial literacy learning experience based on the acclaimed five-book series by author Redza Arbee.
Designed for children aged 9 to 12, this one-day immersive, hands-on learning experience brings together all five core financial literacy modules through storytelling, interactive activities, and practical learning.

The five-book series programme covers five essential life lessons:
- UnderstandingMoney – Children discover why money exists, how value is created, and why societies moved beyond barter.
- Budgetingand Saving – Children learn budgeting, saving, prioritisation and delayed gratification.
- Entrepreneurship andValue Creation – Children identify everyday problems, think creatively and discover how entrepreneurs create value for others.
- WiseSpending Decisions – Children explore needs versus wants, borrowing, debt and long-term consequences.
- Inflationand Purchasing Power – Children experience inflation, supply and demand, and how money supply affects purchasing power.
Each module simplifies complex financial concepts into engaging lessons that children can understand and apply in their daily lives.
Citrine One Malaysia conducted two pilot programmes in July/August this year with 8-14-year-old dhamma students from Buddhist Maha Vihara in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and Sekolah Kebangsaan St.Mary’s in the suburbs of Selayang, Selangor. Up to 90 students participated in these two workshops. Feedback and comments from the parents of participating students can be found here: https://moneywisetales.com/learning-experience .
To date, more than 10,000 copies of the Money Wise Tales book, launched in December, 2025, have since been distributed to over 30 primary schools in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, as well as Sabah and Sarawak.
Redza Arbee, Co-Founder of Citrine One Malaysia’s Social Enterprise Initiative and Author of the Money Wise Tales series, enthused, “The book series is designed to build the foundations for understanding how we create, exchange and represent value. Through entertaining stories, children can begin developing perspectives that help them make better decisions, while giving parents a simple way to start meaningful conversations about money, value and everyday choices and, in the process, build stronger bonds with their children from an early age.”
Ivlynn Yap, Executive Chairman, Citrine One Group said, “Citrine One Malaysia was reinvented on the belief that education has the power to transform lives and communities. Financial literacy is not merely about managing money—it is about developing responsible decision-making, resilience, ethical leadership and confidence. By bringing together storytelling, experiential learning and community partnerships, we hope to make quality financial education accessible to every child regardless of background.”
“We are encouraged and motivated by the overwhelming positive feedback we received from participating students and their parents. Fun, entertaining experiential learning is the way to go and ought to be the basis of education to excite the cognitive stimuli of young minds,” Ivlynn Yap added.

The Perdana Leadership Foundation (PLF), an independent, non-profit research and archive institution established in 2003 to preserve, document, and disseminate information on the leadership, policies, and initiatives of Malaysia’s past Prime Ministers, gracefully hosted the programme in conjunction with PLF’s third Merdeka Exhibition, “Independence – A Shared Struggle, A Sacred Trust”.
The Exhibition is open to the public until 30 September 2026 at the Perdana Leadership Foundation, Putrajaya, and reflects PLF’s broader efforts to provide Malaysians with engaging opportunities to understand the nation’s leaders and history.
Zarina Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer, PLF shared, “The Perdana Leadership Foundation is pleased to be the host venue for the launch of Nimbus Presents: Money Wise Tales Learning Experience. We support initiatives that prepare young Malaysians with the knowledge and values required for responsible leadership. With financial literacy an essential life competency, programmes such as Nimbus Presents: Money Wise Tales complement our shared aspiration of developing informed, capable and future-ready leaders.”

Beyond the launch programme, Citrine One Malaysia aims to collaborate with schools, corporations, foundations, community organisations and government agencies to expand financial literacy education nationwide through workshops, educator resources and community outreach programmes.
The initiative also supports broader environmental, social and governance (ESG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives by investing in early financial education and empowering communities through sustainable learning programmes.
The launch workshop is offered at an introductory public programme fee of RM259 per child, with every child receiving the complete five-book Money Wise Tales collection, a facilitated workshop and a Certificate of Learning upon completion. Net proceeds from the fee will be accumulated to sponsor underserved children to attend the learning experience.
