KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh has assured residents of Setiawangsa that government services and local support will continue uninterrupted following the resignation of MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

In a statement issued on Monday, Yeoh thanked Nik Nazmi for his service to Kuala Lumpur and acknowledged his contributions during his tenure as the Member of Parliament for Setiawangsa.

She said services under the Federal Territories Department would continue operating as usual despite the vacancy in the parliamentary seat.

“To ensure residents continue receiving the necessary support and attention, I have instructed Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Mayor Datuk Seri TPr Fadlun Mak Ujud to strengthen the role of the DBKL Setiawangsa branch office in handling local issues and complaints,” she said.

Yeoh added that additional manpower would also be deployed to speed up on-ground action and improve response times throughout the transition period.

Residents can continue to submit complaints or seek assistance through the DBKL Setiawangsa branch office located at D’Wangsa, Jalan Wangsa Delima 13, Wangsa Maju.

The office operates from 8am to 4.30pm on weekdays.

Yeoh also reiterated her commitment to preserving Bukit Dinding, describing it as an important green lung for Kuala Lumpur residents.

“I will continue working with all parties to protect and preserve Bukit Dinding so it remains a green lung for Kuala Lumpur for the benefit of the local community,” she said.

Nik Nazmi announced on Sunday that he would vacate the Setiawangsa parliamentary seat following his departure from PKR alongside former deputy president Rafizi Ramli.
