KUALA LUMPUR — Perikatan Nasional secretary general Takiyuddin Hassan has congratulated C. Joseph Vijay and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, following their electoral victory in Tamil Nadu and Vijay’s swearing-in as Chief Minister.
In a statement on behalf of Perikatan Nasional, Takiyuddin said the victory reflected the people’s confidence in Vijay’s agenda centred on reform, justice, social harmony, youth empowerment and modernization, as well as his opposition to divisive and discriminatory politics.
Takiyuddin noted that Vijay, popularly known as “Thalapathy” during his acting career, enjoys strong admiration in Malaysia, particularly among Indian youths, for his achievements in the entertainment industry, humanitarian image and public leadership.
He said Vijay’s political rise has attracted significant attention and enthusiasm among Malaysians, especially due to the longstanding historical, cultural and linguistic ties between Tamil Nadu and the Malaysian Indian community.
PN also expressed hope that Vijay would successfully lead Tamil Nadu towards greater progress, stability and prosperity.
