KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 — PAS Youth Malaysia says its election machinery is on high alert and fully prepared for the possibility of state elections in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor, which could be called at any time.
PAS Youth Election Director, Tengku Muhammad Fakhruddin Tengku Md Fauzi in a statement said the wing is intensifying preparations and refining its strategies to ensure strong performance should the polls be held in the near future.
He noted that recent political developments indicate a lack of cohesion among rival parties, particularly involving UMNO and the Pakatan Harapan coalition, over the political situation in Negeri Sembilan and proposals to postpone elections in Melaka and Johor.
“The conflicting statements among party leaders reflect inconsistency and uncertainty in their positions,” he said in a statement today.
He also pointed to shifting stances by certain parties — including earlier calls to delay the elections — as a sign of growing strain within the ruling coalition.
However, he cautioned PAS Youth members against complacency, urging them to remain disciplined and continue strengthening preparations at all levels.
At the same time, he said tensions among parties within the government have become increasingly apparent and could affect political stability, raising the possibility of an early 16th General Election (GE16).
In response, PAS Youth has called on its members nationwide to strengthen organisational capacity, intensify fundraising efforts, streamline grassroots operations and enhance training for election workers.
He added that the three state elections would be a crucial platform for PAS to expand its influence under the Perikatan Nasional banner in Peninsular Malaysia, while serving as an important stepping stone toward its goal of capturing Putrajaya in GE16.
