Kuala Lumpur– Proficeo proudly announces the successful conclusion of the WSA Malaysia National Finals 2024, marking Malaysia’s first National Competition for the World Summit Awards (WSA).
Proficeo launched the competition in July 2024 to identify the best digital impact innovations addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As the appointed National Expert for Malaysia, CEO & Co-Founder of Proficeo, Renuka Sena, led this prestigious competition, which drew a remarkable response with over 153 nominations, culminating in a rigorous selection process that saw 17 finalists pitch their game-changing innovations on October 2 at the offices of Payments Networks Malaysia (PayNet), who graciously agreed to co-host the WSA Malaysia finals with Proficeo.
“I would also like to make a special shout-out to another WSA Category – the Young Innovators Award – which honors young entrepreneurs under the age of 26.
“There were 16 nominees, from which two were invited to present their innovative solutions at the Malaysia Finals – namely BuzzLoop and DatoBulat Tech Lab.
“These 2 Youth Finalists will also represent Malaysia in the Youth Category at the Global Level. This is the first time ever that Malaysia is being represented in this Category and for that, I have to thank Hanif Marzuki, the WSA Malaysia Youth Ambassador from Youth Ventures for his hard work.” added Renuka.

Message from Last Year’s Winner
Mohamed Tarek, Founder of ERTH (Electronic Recycling Through Heroes) and a 2023 WSA Global Winner in the Smart Settlements and Urbanisation Category, shared an inspiring message with this year’s finalists:
“Winning the World Summit Awards has been a long-standing dream of mine since I was a runner up for my previous startup 15 years ago when I was in Finland. This award is not just about celebrating digital innovation—it’s about recognizing impact. At ERTH, we harness technology to tackle electronic waste, demonstrating how digital solutions can drive both sustainability and economic value. The WSA has helped spotlight our mission and provided a platform to share our story with a global audience.”
