Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations, Oriental Daily News is thrilled to announce the Malaysia-China Run 2024.
The Run will take place on December 8, 2024 (Sunday) at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Partnership and Organisers:
The Malaysia-China Run 2024 is organised in partnership with nine distinguished organisations, including the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia-Huazong, The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, The Malaysia Chinese Assembly Hall, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce, Malaysia-China Friendship Association, The Federation of Foochow Associations of Malaysia, The Federation of Hokkien Associations of Malaysia, The Federation Of Hainan Association Malaysia, and Persekutuan Persatuan-Persatuan Hakka Malaysia.
Event Details:
The Run will feature two main categories: a 5KM Fun Run and a 10KM Run, with an expected participation of over 5,000 runners aged 7 and above.
To celebrate this event, participants will have a chance to win amazing lucky draw prizes, including electrical home appliances and RM4,000 in cash vouchers.
For those competing in the 10KM Run, the first ten winners will receive a total of RM14,400 in cash prizes and plaques.
Objectives of the Run:
- Celebrate 50 Years of Diplomatic Ties: The run highlights the strong and enduring friendship between Malaysia and China, injecting vitality into future cooperation.
- Foster Friendship and Understanding: This event aims to create a positive atmosphere that promotes the development of bilateral relations through sports.
- Promote Sports Exchange: The run fosters cooperation between both nations, inspiring a healthy lifestyle and advocating the spirit of sports.
- Foster Social Inclusion: The event provides an open platform that unites people of all ages and professions, sharing the joy and achievements of the Run.

Registration for the event will close on October 31, 2024. Fees are RM50 for the 5KM Fun Run and RM65 for the 10KM Run, with special group packages available.
Participants will receive a drawstring bag, event T-shirt, finisher medal, e-certificate, personal accident insurance, refreshments, and a bib number. Timing chips will be provided for the 10KM race.
