Jakarta, August 28, 2026 — Halal Week Indonesia (PHI) 2026 in conjunction with the EduNation Festival officially opened today, Friday (August 28), at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC). Embracing the spirit of bringing together the halal industry, education, communities, and society in one ecosystem, this inaugural event will run until August 30, 2026, in Hall A and Cenderawasih Hall at JICC.
The implementation of PHI 2026 is supported by a number of partners from various sectors, including Halal Kulture, Glamlocal, and Deatextile as event partners, iFortepay as the Official Payment Gateway, and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as the Supporting Partner.
PT Debindomulti Adhiswasti President Director Vibiadhi Swasti Pradana stated that PHI and EduNation Festival are present as a collaborative space that brings together various elements in the halal ecosystem.
“We present Indonesian Halal Week as a platform to bring together businesses, educational institutions, communities, and the public. Today’s halal industry is no longer just about products; it has evolved into an ecosystem encompassing halal living, lifestyle, fashion, education, and even financial innovation,” said Vibiadhi.
According to him, this concept makes PHI a space that is not only oriented towards transactions, but also interaction, education, and the opening of new collaboration opportunities.
“Through this event, we want the public to discover various products and services, gain new insights, and experience firsthand how the halal ecosystem is developing and present in everyday life,” he continued.
Indonesia’s Halal Industry Has Huge Potential
This potential has also attracted the attention of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH). M. Fariza Y. Irwady, BPJPH’s Head of Communications and Public Relations, emphasized that halal certification should be viewed not only as an obligation but also as an opportunity to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian industry.
With a population of over 290 million, a majority Muslim population, Indonesia has a large halal market base. At the same time, the development of the global halal industry also opens up expansion opportunities for Indonesian businesses.
Fariza stated that to date, the BPJPH has issued around 31,000 halal certifications. He noted that the growth of the halal industry is also evident in the growing attention of various countries, including South Korea, China, and Thailand, to the halal market.
“The potential for the halal ecosystem in Indonesia is very large. Therefore, halal certification should not only be seen as an obligation, but also as the potential to increase added value and open up wider market access,” said Fariza.
Halal Lifestyle Meets Globally-Minded Education
PHI’s collaboration with EduNation Festival also broadens the scope of the event from a mere product exhibition to a space for education and development of the younger generation.
KOPIN representative, Ustadz Abdurrahman, said that education today faces the challenge of not only producing an intelligent generation, but also a generation with global insight while still maintaining Islamic character and values.
According to him, collaboration with PHI is relevant because the halal concept is increasingly becoming part of a lifestyle.
“Halal isn’t just about religious rules, but also about how we live our lives. Therefore, it’s important for the younger generation to understand the meaning of halal and develop a global perspective,” he said.
Through the EduNation Festival, this collaboration brings three main values that it wants to introduce to the younger generation, namely having a global perspective, having an Islamic character, and having a halal character.
Over the Next Two Days, Visitors Can Still Enjoy a Variety of Events
After the official opening, the Indonesian Halal Week and EduNation Festival series will continue for two days, Saturday (29/8) and Sunday (30/8).

Not only does PHI present an industry perspective, it also brings a community approach through the participation of various communities, including automotive and biker communities, who are also part of the visitor experience.
With a combination of exhibitions, education, community, lifestyle, and collaboration opportunities, the final two days of PHI 2026 provide an opportunity for the public to not only observe the development of the halal industry but also experience firsthand how this ecosystem is present in various aspects of life.
