MALAYSIA – Sarawak entrepreneur Aaron Nagai has launched PetrolPrice, an AI-powered fuel intelligence platform that tracks and analyses fuel prices across 196 markets worldwide.

The startup is backed by Balaji Srinivasan controversial yet prominent Silicon Valley investor including the Founder of Network School and former Chief Technology Officer of Coinbase, through the Balaji Fund. The investment values PetrolPrice at US$2 million following its pre-seed funding round.

Founded by Nagai, PetrolPrice is an AI-powered energy intelligence platform that tracks, verifies and analyses the prices of essential energy commodities around the world, including petrol, diesel and electricity. By combining artificial intelligence with automated data collection, the platform makes energy price information more transparent and accessible for consumers, businesses and policymakers.

“Fuel prices influence the daily lives of billions of people, yet global pricing data remains fragmented and difficult to access,” said Aaron Nagai, Founder of PetrolPrice. “We’re building the world’s most comprehensive energy intelligence platform, making energy pricing as accessible and transparent as financial market data.”

Balaji Srinivasan, Founder of Network School and former Chief Technology Officer of Coinbase, is one of Silicon Valley’s leading technology investors. Through the Balaji Fund, he has backed high-growth startups including OpenSea, Luma and Polymarket, alongside companies building on major blockchain ecosystems such as Ethereum, Solana and Polygon.

The project underscores Malaysia’s ambition to become a regional hub for artificial intelligence and digital innovation. By building globally relevant technology from Malaysia, PetrolPrice aims to demonstrate that local talent can create products with worldwide impact while attracting international confidence in the country’s startup ecosystem.
