SEREMBAN — PKR Vice President Chang Lih Kang has described Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun’s decision to leave the Sikamat state seat and contest the Linggi state constituency as a bold move that demonstrates his confidence and commitment to leading Pakatan Harapan in the Negeri Sembilan state election.

According to Chang, Linggi has long been regarded as one of Barisan Nasional’s traditional strongholds, having remained under BN’s control since the 1970s. He said Aminuddin’s decision to contest the seat sends a clear message that he is prepared to face political challenges directly rather than avoid difficult contests.

“As a leader, Tok Min has chosen to enter the opposition’s stronghold while leading the Pakatan Harapan campaign in this state election,” he said.

Chang expressed confidence that Aminuddin’s track record as Menteri Besar, particularly in attracting investments, driving economic growth and safeguarding the welfare of the people, would resonate with Linggi voters from all communities.

He added that Pakatan Harapan remains committed to promoting politics based on justice, stability and unity in Malaysia’s multiracial society, while rejecting divisive politics that exploit racial and religious sentiments for political gain.

Chang was speaking after attending a dinner programme with the Chinese community at Dewan Besar Tokong Guan Yin Long Xing Shan in support of Aminuddin’s campaign. He said the attendance of nearly 1,000 people reflected encouraging grassroots support ahead of polling day.

He also expressed hope that Aminuddin would receive the people’s mandate to continue serving in the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly and ensure the state’s economic progress and public well-being remain a priority.
