JOHOR BAHRU – Pakatan Harapan has launched its 10-point manifesto for the upcoming Johor state election, pledging wide-ranging reforms aimed at raising incomes, improving affordable housing access, strengthening human capital and ensuring broader economic benefits for residents.
The manifesto, themed “Johor Untuk Semua” (Johor for All), highlights Johor’s strategic position as a fast-growing state driven by major investments, the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, and expansion in digital and high-technology industries.
Among its key pledges is a healthcare protection scheme offering coverage of up to RM100,000 annually for B40 and M40 households as well as persons with disabilities, alongside the revival of the Kad Sihat Johor programme, which the coalition says would benefit around 500,000 people.
On housing, Pakatan proposed first-home deposit assistance of up to RM8,000, a rent-to-own scheme, and the construction of 80,000 affordable homes over five years, with priority for young families and second-generation Felda settlers.
For youth development, the coalition pledged a RM500 million Johor Youth Fund to support TVET, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital skills, entrepreneurship and job placement initiatives. It also proposed gigabit internet access for all schools by 2030, the establishment of AI and robotics labs in every district, and stronger industry–education collaboration.
Economic measures include a RM1 billion fund for SMEs and entrepreneurs, alongside efforts to strengthen key sectors such as agri-food, tourism, oil and gas, creative industries and advanced manufacturing.
Other proposals include reducing congestion and halving checkpoint waiting times through integrated mobility systems involving RTS, ETS, Bas.My and smart traffic management, as well as creating 250,000 high-income jobs and increasing Johor’s median salary by at least 30%.
The manifesto also outlines plans for a RM50 monthly public transport pass for students, senior citizens and persons with disabilities, the establishment of 250 childcare centres, and a RM1,000 incentive for every newborn in the state. It further proposes programmes to encourage Johoreans working in Singapore and abroad to return.
Aminolhuda Hassan, Johor Pakatan chairman, said all 10 promises under the 100-day agenda are achievable if the coalition is given a mandate.
“We have a proven track record of delivering our commitments when in government and will work closely with the civil service and stakeholders to implement them,” he said at the manifesto launch held at a hotel in Johor Bahru on Friday.
