PUTRAJAYA, 9 March 2026 – Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Steven Sim Chee Keong, recently distributed dates to 535 staff members of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.
During the session, the Minister took time to personally visit every floor of the ministry’s building, engaging with staff members, exchanging greetings, and asking about their well-being. The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen camaraderie and reinforce a spirit of teamwork among KUSKOP personnel.
The session also allowed ministry staff to interact directly with the Minister and share their perspectives on their roles and workplace environment, while the Minister expressed appreciation for their dedication and commitment in serving the ministry.
In addition, Steven Sim visited the ministry’s call centre to meet frontline officers who attend to daily inquiries from the public. He took the opportunity to personally thank and encourage them for their continuous service.
The distribution of dates has become a personal tradition for the Minister each Ramadan. This year, the dates were sourced from Nablus, Palestine, and purchased from Pasar Palestin, a small business in Malaysia run by members of the Palestinian community living in the country. The Minister has been supporting the business since 2019.
This simple yet meaningful initiative reflects the Minister’s commitment to humanitarian values and solidarity, particularly during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Embracing the spirit of Ramadan, which emphasises compassion and sharing, KUSKOP remains committed to strengthening Malaysia’s entrepreneurship and cooperative ecosystem in line with the Ihsan values of the Malaysia MADANI aspiration.
